Dr. Shaik Rusthum obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in the year 1988 with Civil Engineering as his specialization from Osmania University. He finished his Masters Degree in Hydraulics in the year 1994 from Andhra University. He was awarded with Doctor of Philosophy for his research on “Water Shed Management” in 2003 from Osmania University.

He had gained extensive knowledge and experience for more than 27 years in teaching, research and development, project guidance and consultancy and other areas along with exposure to industries. He have been involved in teaching and research in the areas of watershed management, urban development and transportation engineering by using latest technologies like GIS & Remote sensing and Satellite data for a more then 15 years now. He believes in outcome-based education. His objective is to make the bilateral interaction system in knowledge, affordable and modular for the ease of adoption and updating where ever feasible and desirable.

With his exposure to some of the best institutions dealing with research and development system, he have the required capabilities, motivation, vision and national and international connectivity and is fully aware of the technology related issues and their implementations in abroad countries like Saudi Arabia and sis capable of giving a growth oriented direction to the Students as well as Faculty members, in turn, the institutions.

We wish the best to all our students, and the members of the group who restate their aims at delivering the best in academic and extra-curricular areas. We must accept as true that the success is to be anticipated where these exist- "Firm Determination, Hard work and Discipline". You are certain that you will be proud of yourself as a confident and successful technocrat after your course years at BGTI. Once again, we wish all our students and faculty a victorious and gratifying career.

He has actively participated in many of the Research and Academic Development Programs. He is the Convener of Academic Cell, Advisor to the Institution of Engineer's (India) Students Chapter, Member of Development cum Building Committee and Technical Committee of Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad. He is a Technical Society Member of FIE, MISTE, MISRS and is a Fellow Member in Institute of Engineers (India) F-111742-0, Life Member - Indian Society for Technical Education (LM 49835) and Indian Society for Remote Sensing (LM 3207).

He is recognized by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad and Osmania University to guide PhD Candidates. Under the able guidance of Dr. Shaik Rusthum, 35 projects have been completed in UG and PG Level. He has guided 3 projects in PhD Level and 5 more projects are under her supervision.

Dr. Shaik Rusthum, with about 10 years of experience as a Principal is with Brilliant Institute of Engineering & Technology since its inception and has contributed a lot in taking the College standards to new heights. The alumni from our college will be proficient and skilled in conducting their practice with a high level of maturity and leadership, and be able to carry out practice-related projects.
